Mayan — a driver pays the destination, then settles the source

Mayan
Swift, MCTP, Wormhole Swap
Mayan is a cross-chain order. You name what you send and what you want to receive. You sign once. A driver who already holds funds on the destination pays you there, and is repaid from what you locked on the source. If the deadline passes with no fill, the order refunds. Mayan never has custody in either outcome.
That single shape covers a swap, a bridge, a stablecoin payment, a deposit, a withdrawal, and an extra on-chain step hung off the same order. Scale so far is more than $20 billion, roughly 9 to 10 million swaps, and more than 3 million users. MetaMask, Phantom, OKX Wallet, MoonPay, SwapKit, and LI.FI route orders through it. OtterSec and Sec3 audited the contracts. They are permissionless: nobody can freeze the position.
This paper is the order, the three settlement methods, the difference between an estimate and a locked amount, and what to do when the explorer says refunded.
Six outcomes, one signature
- Swap is any asset for any other, at the quote you sign.
- Bridge is the same transaction crossing chains, with no separate bridge step first.
- Pay is a stablecoin amount that matches the quote on the routes that lock it.
- Deposit funds an account from the asset you already hold.
- Withdraw leaves to another chain and another asset.
- Orchestrate attaches one more on-chain action to that swap.
A token is routable if it has a contract address. The per-chain token list is a convenience, not a boundary. A chain may accept orders as a source and not as a destination. originActive and destinationActive are the flags that say which way is open.
How the three methods differ
The quote chooses Swift, MCTP, or Wormhole Swap. The explorer records which one filled.
| Method | Speed | Fee and size |
|---|---|---|
| Swift | As little as 2 seconds | No protocol fee. Most orders, up to about $1 million. Exact-out where the route is eligible. |
| MCTP, Fast MCTP | As little as 5 seconds | Up to about $10 million. USDC out is free of protocol fee. Anything else is 3 basis points. Fast MCTP, on CCTP v2, is 3 basis points. |
| Wormhole Swap | Under a minute | 10 basis points. High-value SOL and ETH, low slippage, over the Wormhole token bridge. |
On Swift the source may convert your token into USDC or ETH before the order is open. A refund after that conversion returns the converted asset. MCTP first swaps to USDC and ships that USDC with Circle’s CCTP, then lets drivers compete to buy the output token. Wormhole Swap mint-and-burns across the token bridge, with the swap details in the message, and the winning driver flash-swaps on Solana.
Every EVM chain uses one forwarder, 0x337685fdaB40D39bd02028545a4FfA7D287cC3E2. Approve that address for an ERC-20. Pass Wormhole chain ids, not EVM ids. Base is 30. The rest of the table, including the method contracts, is on the chains page and the methods page.
Estimate, floor, and locked amount
Connect a wallet, pick both sides, and sign. The quote shows what you should receive and the minimum you will accept. A fill under that minimum does not happen. A high price impact means this size is pushing the market.
Guaranteed Price is not a setting. swiftAuctionMode of 3 means expectedAmountOut is exact. Mode 2 means at least minAmountOut, usually close to the expected figure. Exact-out is USDC to USDC, USDT to USDT, and ETH to ETH, on any supported chain pair. Other pairs stay a range. The lock is the amount. The deadline still refunds an order nobody fills.
A wallet with the token and no gas token can request gasless: true. You sign a message. A relayer broadcasts and pays the source gas. The return value is an order hash, not a transaction, and a gasless Swift refund can only return to the signer. Gas drop, by contrast, delivers native gas on the destination. It does not pay the source.
deadline64 is the last moment a driver can fill. After it, the refund is a separate transaction, priced up front by refundRelayerFee and clientRelayerFeeRefund. The explorer marks that order REFUNDED.
From quote to fill
- Set both ends of the order before you look at the number.
- Compare the expected amount with the minimum, and read price impact. Same-asset USDC, USDT, and ETH may already be locked.
- Sign once. Seconds for Swift, about five for MCTP, under a minute for Wormhole Swap, when the route is clear.
- On a miss, search the source transaction or the gasless order hash.
REFUNDEDis a deadline or a minimum the market could not clear.
Builders use @mayanfinance/swap-sdk, plus a quote API, an explorer, and a widget. Current Swift pays referrer fees from the locked source assets, on the source chain. The EVM fee manager is 0x54914A963c4197172130C26D496a367bD6609D88. The same SDK deposits USDC to a HyperCore spot or perps balance and withdraws it to an EVM chain. Quote rules are on the using page.
The chain set is Solana, Ethereum, BNB Smart Chain, Polygon, Avalanche, Sui, Arbitrum, Optimism, Base, Linea, Unichain, HyperEVM, Monad, Fogo, and HyperCore. Direction is whatever the active flags say today.
